Summer Ritual

We all have a personal ritual. This ritual passed on generation after generation in the South of France. It connects us with the season, with the land, and with our senses. And it starts with lavender blossoming in summer. The smell of the flowers is distinct, fresh, and calming. We capture the perfume inside the sachet and bobbin that we made ourselves. We picked the lavender, dried it, and crafted it. The ritual brings the summer plant inside, into your clothes, closet, pillow.

This summer ritual was inspired by three generations of women that passed it on. It is a re-connective moment that aroused tenderness, love, and inspiration. The drawings are a contribution of We Made Together for the book Collective Wandering⁣ Hanging Out with Our Everyday Ecology by Lenn Cox.
