The map of future repairs

A huge garment was used as a support for a clothing repair map showing possibilities available now, highlighting new ideas, and exploring a diversity of opportunities for the future. Designers, brands, professors, activists, decision-makers, start-ups, and anyone interested in the potential of clothing repair were invited to complete and interact on the map during The repair futures event in Utrecht from 24 to 26 September 2021. The event promoted repair as a way to transform, reactivate and re-imagine clothing and, it advocated for the inclusion of repair in the clothing industry.

We met thanks to Marijke Bongers, and our collaboration started remotely in March 2020. We imagined through multiple exchanges an interaction involving and contributing to all the people who attended the event.
